COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Yoga has evolved as one of the most reliable, authentic and efficient health care systems available in society today. This course, part lecture and part practice of asanas, pranayams, and mudras, will explain how a daily practice of yoga can be used as a therapeutic tool for our health and healing. Yoga as therapy is Ayurveda, which is knowledge of life. Basic philosophy of Ayurveda and its relation to yoga will be discussed in this course as well.

Part I (June 4) focuses on Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy - Daily Practice for Health and Healling

Part II (June 11) addresses Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy for Various Chronic Diseases

This course differs from previous levels and Yoga Therapy Retreats, in that it goes into more depth with lecture and different asanas about the theory behind ayurveda and yoga. It will consist of about half lecture and half practice, while other classes have included more practice time. Participants should bring their own yoga mats and other personal items. No textbook is required.

CERTIFICATE: A Certificate of Course Completion for 6 hours credit will be awarded to each student at the end of the course.
